Artist Spotlight:Scott McLaughlin :”Scotty Mac Band”


Scott McLaughlin is from a small Southern California town surrounded by a dairy farms and annual horse shows. Scott’s love for music started when he was introduced to classic rock bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Allman Brothers Band. He fell in love with country music when he received his first guitar from his dad at the age of 13. By high school he was writing and singing his own songs. When attending California State University, Long Beach he was a part of many bands and performed at different places throughout Southern California. 

Scott formed the Scotty Mac Band in 2014. The band’s early success led them to Nashville in November 2014. Also in 2014, Scott and his band recorded their first EP called “Messin Around.”  Scott and his band’s success continued in 2015 as they were invited to perform at many country music festivals. Scott has had the chance to tour with country musicians such as Chris Young, Easton Corbin, Parmalee, Jake Owen and Luke Bryan. In 2016, the Scotty Mac Band was an opening act for Chase Bryant. For the rest of the year, Scott and his band will be performing at different venues and festivals. The Scotty Mac Band’s music is available on Apple Music and Spotify.
