1. Hi Stewart & Holly, how have you two grown as a country duo in 2019?
Being a husband and wife duo, every year brings growth for us in our relationship & in our career. This year we charted at #33 on the Billboard country sales charts. We have played over 75+ shows & we celebrated another year of marriage. This year we have learned even more about what we want to do and say in our music & how to rely on each other when times are good and bad while chasing this dream.
2. How did you two come up with the name of your brand new single “Someone?”
I (Stewart) had the idea in my phone. I was writing with Lexie Hayden & George Washburne & told them about how there are so many people that do things daily around Holly or for Holly (waiter, pizza delivery, mail man, e.t.c.) I told them as cool as all those things are that I don’t want to be any of those. I just want to be the person that loves her for the rest of her life.
3. What is the background story behind your new single?
Each one person is surrounded daily by everyone, & everyone has their own individual life. However, each person only has one “someone” who will love them forever. And, most of us are lucky enough to find someone that we want to be that “someone” for. We have both found our someone, so we wrote a song for anyone who is in the position we were in before, wanting to be that, “someone.”
4. What was the process in creating this song?
Thankfully, when you have co-writers, you each have strengths and weaknesses. All 3 of us in the room can sing and write lyrics. However, George is a great guitar player& started playing the chords and a really cool guitar lick that we modeled the song after. Lexie, being a female brought in a really cool perspective for us to sing it from Holly’s point of view. And, in the end it worked out perfect because Lexie sang it in the same key as Holly did so we were able to record it in the same key we wrote it in.
5. Is there something you wish your fans would take away from this new song?
Don’t get discourage if you’re single or your past relationships haven’t worked out. Eventually you can, and we hope, that you will find that someone that you are looking for.
6. Was there any other artists or producers that helped to create this song?
Lexie Hayden & George Washburns were the co-writers on this song. Lexie is a very talented up and coming female artist. George is an outstanding guitar player and plays with us on the road from time to time. Our producer Shayne Hill really made the song come to life. He has produced most of all of our music and always does an amazing job!
7. Is there anything coming up with your music for the rest of 2019?
