- Hi Hannah, can you tell me a little bit about yourself, before you became a country musician? Hey there! Absolutely. I grew up in a very small town in Georgia. We had horses and goats and lots of land to run around on. It was a great way to grow up. I have always been musical. My mom says I quite literally sung before I spoke. So it was clear very early on to my family that I was meant to entertain people and they supported me in that from a very young ago.
- How did you become a fan of country music and when did you know you wanted a career in it? Well growing up in Georgia definitely exposed me to country music so I was a fan from a young age. But I really loved all kinds of music. So I wasn’t totally sure where I would end up as an artist. When I first started writing music I was about 14 years old, and I had no agenda in mind other then to put pen to paper and see what happened. Well, sure enough, it came out country. And every song since has come out country. It’s just how I wanted to tell my stories and so much a part of who I was.
- Who are some of your musical icons? This is always such a tough question for me to answer because I admire and respect so many artists. To give a short list…Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton on the current landscape. Garth Brooks, Shania, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Alabama, Reba…how do you stop the list?? Lol
- How did you come up with the name of your new album “Good Time” and was there any name you were going to pick instead? I’ll be totally honest with you, naming this album took me a minute. I had so many different ideas come through my head, but eventually landed on “Good Time” for a couple of reasons. One, the song “Good Time” sums up the feel of our band and our live show so well. We are definitely a “Good Time”! Also, as I listened down to the album in its entirety, it felt fun, and high energy, and even the slower more personal songs were “real” and honest. So once “Good Time” was a contender I was convinced that was the right decision.
- What is your favorite song off the album? I love them all. I either wrote or personally selected each song and so they all mean so much to me. If I had to pick a favorite it might be “I’m not 18 anymore”. It’s a very real breakdown of where I am in my life right now.
- If you could sing with a famous singer or group who would it be and why? Again there are so many. I love Chris Stapleton’s voice so much. I would love to sing with him.
- Is there anything new coming up with your music for the rest of 2018? Yes! There will be another single released this fall, a Christmas single during the holiday season, and a tour down to Florida and back to play the Kix Country Music Festival.
- Where do you see your music career in the next 5 to 10 years? I hope to be touring full time, writing and recording music I love. Making an even larger impact on people though my music.
- What is one of your favorite quotes? “Be stubborn about your goals and flexible about your methods”
