DD: 1. Hi Dustin, can you tell me a little bit about yourself before you became a country singer/songwriter?
DC: Before I did music professionally, I was just a small town kid from central Kentucky. I guess like everyone else, I was just trying to figure out what who I was and where I wanted to go.
DD: 2. How did you become a fan of country music and when did you know you wanted a career in it?
DC: I’ve loved country music as far back as I can remember. I believe I was 6-years-old when I first told my mom and dad I wanted to be Garth Brooks.
DD: 3. Who are some of your musical icons?
DC: Garth Brooks, Ronnie Dunn, Jerry Reed, John Prine and more.
DD: 4. How did you come up with the name of your newest album “It’s Been Awhile,” and was there any other names you were going choose instead?
DC: We had originally thought we would go with “The Barn,” but it had been such a long time since we put out a new album that “It’s Been Awhile” just seemed right.
DD: 5. What is your favorite song off your latest album?
DC: “Cold Dead Hands” and “Pieces” for sure.
DD: 6. Is there anything new coming up with your music for the rest of 2018?
DC: We are gonna be doing a lot of shows, writing and visiting some friends at country radio.
DD: 7. If you could sing a duet with a famous singer or group who would it be and why?
DC: Miranda Lambert or Lindsay Ell because they are awesome.
DD: 8. Where do you see your music career in the next 5 to 10 years?
DC: Hopefully, I’ll still be moving forward and making music for my fans.
