Wildee “Q&A”!!!

1.   Hi Wildee, can you tell me a little bit about yourself, before you became a country singer/songwriter?

I was born and raised in Temecula, CA with 3 brothers, mom, and stepdad. I’ve always grown up around music. My grandfather was a huge influence for me and he was where I gained my love for country music. He was born and raised in the sticks of Louisiana very poor and picking cotton as soon as he could walk. He always was playing his guitar and singing the old country songs from Merle Haggard, George Jones, to name a couple, and I was always drawn to it and knew from a young age that my mission in life was to have a career in music. My mom always encouraged me to follow my dreams as well and really helped pave the way by putting me in voice lessons when I was 9 years old.

I grew up a playing basketball, joined student government, participated in school choir, and all the while getting straight A’s. I got my bachelors degree in business at the University of California in Riverside as well. Although I was a busy kid, I never stopped pursuing music and I never will!

2.   Who are some of your musical icons?

My musical icons are Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, Miranda Lambert, Cam, and too many more to list!

3.   What is the background story behind your newest single “Burn?”

My latest single Burn came from a place of pain but also being able to find strength through the hurt. When you’re in a relationship and somebody does you wrong, sometimes it’s best to just burn the pictures, burn the gifts, and burn the memories. It’s a starting point of moving on from somebody that just wasn’t right for you.

4.   Is there anything new coming up with your music for the rest of 2018?

I have a few tours throughout New England and Southern California including opening for Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini, Josh Turner, and Love & Theft, I am currently in the studio working on my EP that is set to release in the Fall of 2018, I am playing all around Nashville, and I will continue to work very hard to make the most of 2018 and make some magic happen.

5.   Where do you see your music career in the next 5 to 10 years?

I see myself with a record deal, touring and sharing my music around the world, living in Nashville, and writing and recording new music.

6.   If you could sing a duet with a famous singer/songwriter who would it be and why?

I would sing a duet with Eric Church. I absolutely love his style and his down to earth/relatable music. I feel like our voices would compliment each other as well.

7.   How did you get chosen to be a part of Keith Urban’s Graffiti U World Tour?

I lived in Rhode Island prior to moving to Nashville and had the opportunity to open for Eric Church, Billy Currington, Carly Pearce, Runaway June, Michael Ray, Billy Gilman, to name a few. After doing so many opening shows last year, the venues have asked me back and I’ll be opening for Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini, Josh Turner, and Love & Theft. It’s an incredible feeling to have these moments of accomplishments and it assures me that I’m moving in the right direction.

8.   What is one of your favorite quotes?

“If you don’t jump, you’ll never know if you can fly.”—Miranda Lambert

9.   Is there anything else you would like to share?

I was a contestant on the current season of NBCs The Voice and my current single “Burn” has been on rotation throughout New England radio stations. I believe in hard work and pushing all boundaries in this life. It only comes around once.
