1.    Hello Brinley, can you tell me a little bit about yourself, before you became a country musician?

I’m originally from Kingsport, TN and moved to Nashville in 2008 to go to school at Belmont. I started playing on Broadway around that time but had a bunch of random side jobs including landscaping, umpiring little league baseball, and even worked at moon bounce place for a little while.

2.    How did you become a fan of country music and how did you know you wanted a career in it?

I’ve loved country music as long as I can remember. My family took a trip to Nashville when I was three and we went to the Grand Ole Opry and I was hooked from then on. I really knew when I was about nine years old that this was what I wanted to do after seeing Bryan White play in Nashville. He was my favorite singer and he had such energy on stage and was such an entertainer. I was sold.

3.    Who are some of your musical icons?

Alan Jackson, George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Randy Travis, James Taylor, Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw… I could go on and on.

4.    What is the story behind your new single “No Thanks?”

Three good friends of mine (Ryan Beaver, Brett Tyler, and Will Weatherly) wrote this song and the first time I heard it, I knew I had to cut it. It’s just a fun, feel good song about loving dive bars… which I do.

5.    Is there anything new coming up with your music for the rest of 2018?

We’re releasing a new EP called “Songs From A Bar” on April 20th and will be hitting the road later this year. Gonna be fun!

6.    Where do you see your music career in the next 5 to 10 years?

I would hope that I’m still writing, recording, and playing great country songs that people can relate to and have fun to. I love what I do and hope I can do it for a long time.

7.    If you could sing a duet with a famous singer or group who would it be and why?

It’s a tie between Alison Krauss and Vince Gill. I love both of their voices and have looked up to both of them for a long time. Getting to sing with either of them would be a dream come true.

8.    What is one of your favorite quotes?

“Anything worth having is worth working for.”

9.    What is your dream place to play and why?

The Grand Ole Opry. That’s where my love of country music started and I’d be honored to stand on that stage one day.
