On February 10, 2018 I was lucky to attend the Miranda Lambert’s “Livin’ Like Hippies Tour,” at the Forum in Los Angeles, CA. Lambert played songs all from her six studio albums, and focused most on her latest album, “The Weight of These Wings (2016).

Her 2-disc “Wings”, is Lambert’s breakup album, this album was recorded after her split from husband Blake Shelton in 2015. Lambert shares a lot about pain and anger on both discs. One song that Lambert played from this album is call “Tin Man.” It is still hard to hear and see Lambert sing about hardships, but in each song from this album it is irrefutable and it has taken Lambert to the next milestone as a singer/songwriter. “The Weight of These Wings,” has Miranda on a path as someone to be remembered as one of the best country singer/songwriter of the 21st century.

Lambert also did a wonderful cover of singer John Prine’s song “The Way The World Goes Round.” Many people in the audience were singing and dancing along to this great hit.

Lambert then led her eight-member band back to the beginning of her career with her title hit from her 2005 debut “Kerosene.” Then Lambert went back to her latest album, and played three tracks from it. The three tracks were “Highway Vagabound,” “We Should Be Friends,” and “Vice.”

Then Lambert performed two fast pace songs. The two songs were “Mama’s Broken Heart” (2011 “Four the Record”) and “Gunpowder and Lead” (2007 “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”). She then slow it down with her big-hit “The House That Built Me” (2009 “The Revolution”). The country artist brought her main set to a close in a pleasing way by playing her gold/platinum certified songs: “White Liar” and Automatic” as well as a smooth and easy beat cover of Joe Walsh’s “Rocky Mountain Way.”
