Answers:

1. I’m originally from a little beach town in Dunedin, FL. I grew up in a musical family where music filled our home. My parents lead worship in my hometown church and my older brother inspired me to play at open mics with him as a teenager. I took any chance to perform, whether it was singing the Anthem at a baseball game, singing in church, school, or performing for my family on my personal stage, the fireplace. I always knew music would play a huge role in my life, but I never thought it would take me all the way to Nashville, TN.

2. I fell in love with Country Music after my dad introduced me to it. It was the only type of music we agreed on as we listened to the radio on the way to school. 😉 It was also the type of music my parents often slow danced to on a Friday night. I vividly remember the time my dad first taught me how to slow dance to “You’re Still The One” by Shania Twain. Country Music is more than a genre. Every song shares a story. I’ve always wanted to be a positive influence with my music, and Country Music allows you to be who are and share the truth with a couple chords.

3. My biggest musical influences are from the 90’s Country Music Era: Shania Twain, Trisha Yearwood, and Faith Hill. Outside of Country, I’ve always been inspired by Sheryl Crow though. I admired her songwriting, performances, and her ability to crossover genres. Sheryl Crow is timeless. She one of those celebrities for me that I think I’d become speechless around.

4. In the next 5 years I plan on having an album of my songs recorded and released. I will continue to tour across the country and play in areas that I’ve never been. Within the next 10 years I hope to have a single hit the top charts on the radio as well as playing on an arena tour.

5. I honestly can’t imagine myself without music. But if music wasn’t a choice, I think I would be doing something with animals. I’ve always had a soft heart from animals.

6. I would love to sing a duet with Little Big Town. Their harmonies are incredible and I think it would be a fun group to perform with.

7. Recently I’ve been working with David Nail’s producer and band on new music so there’s a few tunes that I’m excited to share with everyone this coming Spring 2017. One of them titled “Dime A Dozen” is a single that I just released on iTunes. It’s a sassy song about opening up to a new love but not forgetting your worth. (You’ll get all my lovin’, but remember I ain’t your dime a dozen.) 

8. My advice to an upcoming artist and songwriter is to never give up. It sounds cliche, but the success stories include people who worked hard, stay focused, and kept doing what they love. You’ll hear so many “no’s” in the industry, but all you need is one “yes” to open the right door. Keep working on your craft and people eventually won’t be able to deny your talent. Also, don’t forget to enjoy your journey!

9. If you would’ve told my 10 year old self that I would have music available on iTunes and would be playing music year round for a living, I would’ve laughed. It’s human nature to always strive for more, but I’m beginning to realize these are the days. I’m living my childhood dream and am so grateful for every chance I get to share my music with someone.
