- Hi, can you give me a little background about your company?
We are about 18 months into selling our new product that people are truly loving. We started with the western markets by selling at the largest country music festivals and rodeos across the country. Over 15,000 sold this year so far with some of the biggest names in country music loving theirs. My name is Trevor and my brother Justin is my business partner. Raised in a farming town in Northern California.
- How did you come up with the name Wallet Buckle, was there any other names that you were considering?
We wanted to come up with a name that was descriptive of the product. It is something so new and unique and you’d never know what it does just by looking at it so we wanted the name to help with what it actually does.
- Where do you see your company in 5 to 10 years?
Shoot 5 years!! Dang that’s a long ways out haha! We see ourselves as the #1 selling belt buckle in the country within the next 18 months! 5 years sitting on top of the accessory market in western, sporting merch, motorcycles etc.
- What is your favorite event to attend to promote your company?
Our favorite has to be our inaugural, Stagecoach Country music festival but it is VERY close with how well Live Nation has come into the Country Music Festival scene as well with their Route91, Faster Horses and Watershed being some darn AMAZING festivals themselves. It truly is tough to pinpoint because the Country Thunders are also great as well. If anyone can make it to any of these they’re in for a blast. Just be sure to stop by the Wallet Buckle booth haha.
- What is one accomplishment that you are the most proud of for Wallet Buckle?
Honestly, holding 2 patents with a 3rd pending, is a great accomplishment but truly, selling that first buckle was a rush. You put in all of this hard work, money and time into something because you THINK you have a good idea but it still comes down to, “Will others think it is a good idea and THEN will they actually spend their hard earned money on it.” And they have in droves. We are blessed to be able to do what we love and meet such great people who support our dream. Also, seeing our product on the Today Show across the country was a rush 🙂
- If you had to give an advice to an up and coming apparel company what would you tell them?
NEVER let anyone tell you that you can’t do something. NEVER let anyone tell you your idea is stupid, PERIOD.
- Is there anything new coming up for your company? 2016? 2017?
MORE SHOWS!! And were coming at those shows in a big way for 2017! We are putting our 2017 schedule together soon and will have it up on our website, www.walletbuckle.com so you can see where we will be.
- Have there been any famous celebrities that had worn your buckles?
We can’t even think of them all! Again, we are truly blessed to have met the people we have. At our festivals and in our booths, the biggest names of country music and their bands/camps are always stopping by the “can’t miss” Wallet Buckle booth to pick up their favorites. Tim McGraw’s, Miranda Lambert’s, Easton Corbin’s, Cassaadee Pope’s band, Taylor Holbrook, Chase Rice’s, etc. We love them all!
- What is one of your favorite quotes?
“You should go on Shark Tank” said, everyone that stops by our booth haha.
