- Hi Karianne, can you tell me a little about yourself before you become country singer?
- I don’t know that there was ever a “me” before music. I have always been a singer & it’s always what I have wanted to do for my entire life. On my way to making a name in the music business I have worked in many different capacities such as working as an airbrush tanning technician, a sales girl and an operations manager in a gym.
- When did you know you wanted to become a country artist?
- I’ve always loved Country music & the amazing female voices like Martina, Faith, Shania, Trisha & the Dixie Chicks, but when I was about 20 I started realizing that the music I wrote was very country based & went full force toward that genre.
- Who are some of your musical icons?
- My biggest icon, idol & inspiration is Kelly Clarkson. She is the queen of all as far as I’m concerned. Her voice cannot be matched & her honesty in her writing changed my life. She is everything lol.
- If you were not a singer what do you think your job would be?
- There are a lot of things I want to do including being an artist & that includes clothing lines & books but I think if I wasn’t in entertainment at all I would be a psycho therapist. I love psychology & talking people thru their emotions.
- If you could do a duet with a singer or group who would it be and why?
- There are so many! I would say Kelly but I think I might faint before we got through a song lol. I love Dierks Bentley & Brantly Gilbert; a duet with them would be amazing.
- What is one accomplishment that you are most proud in your music career?
- I recently just won my first industry award for best country song at The IMEA Awards for my song “Don’t Miss.” That was really awesome!
- What is one of your own favorite songs that you ever wrote and recorded?
- I think “Don’t Miss” is my current favorite. It came from such an honest & open place in me & I think that’s why I’m so favorable toward it.
- Where do you see yourself in the next 5 to 10 years in your career?
- Hopefully all over the radio & at the top of the charts!
- If you have to give advice to an up and coming musician what would you tell them?
- Be open to critique & let it make you better & stronger. You will hear NO a lot of times before you hear the big YES. Just stay patient & keeping working hard.
- In your free time what do you like to do?
- I enjoy playing with my puppy Titan & hanging with my boyfriend Santi. Other then that I love cooking & baking.
- Is there anything new coming up in your career for the rest of 2016 or 2017?
Hoping to get new music out soon!
